Pull the String Productions teaches scenic improvisational techniques that focus on preparing the student for on-stage performance. Each class level stresses a set of progressive skills that adds depth and interest to the basic improvised scene.

Performance Level I
No previous experience or prerequisites are necessary to enroll in PL1. This class begins with an overview of PTSP's philosophy of improv.  PL1 focuses on basic character work, how to begin a scene, and fundamental acting techniques including an introduction to object work.

Performance Level II
The prerequisite for Performance Level II is participation in PL1 or other appropriate improv training and some
on-stage performance experience is desirable. This class focuses on specific skills learned in PL1 stressing strong and varied character development, strengthening the performer's confidence on stage and maintaining scene continuity. Strengths will be accentuated and undesirable habits identified and broken.

Each performance level class is structured as six, 2.5  hour classes taught by a PTSP instructor and a 2.5 hour intensive application workshop taught by a professional guest instructor from the acclaimed Annoyance Theatre in Chicago. The Annoyance is located in uptown Chicago.  All of our professional instructors are currently teaching and performing in Chicago.

Each Performance Level, including 6 classes and the intensive workshop is $220. An early bird discount of $20 will be given for registrations received on or before April 1st.
